Accessibility Statement

Chaplin's World

Compagnie des Alpes is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.

We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards. To assist us in this process, we have hired Ipedis to perform a complete accessibility audit of our website, including both automated and manual testing.

COMPLIANCE STATUS

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They establish three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Chaplin’s World website is non-compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Non-compliant means that the content does not meet the accessibility standard.

OUR COMMITMENT

Chaplin’s World efforts to substantially conform with WCAG 2.2 level AA, we can mention the following accessibility accomplishments:

  • A link allowing users to go directly to the main content when using a screen reader or keyboard navigation.
  • The site does not restrict screen orientation. It can be viewed in both portrait and landscape modes.
  • The content adapts to different screen sizes (down to 320 px wide) without loss of information or functionality, while minimizing horizontal scrolling.
  • Information is not conveyed by color alone – textual descriptions are available.
  • Actions triggered by a long press or swipe gesture can be canceled or require confirmation, preventing accidental activation.
  • The main language of each page is correctly declared, allowing screen readers to interpret most of the content appropriately.

Despite best efforts to ensure accessibility of Chaplin’s World website, there may be some limitations. Chaplin’s World commits to work towards remediating these known limitations:

  • Informative images do not have a relevant textual alternative.
  • Decorative images and icons are not ignored by assistive technologies.
  • Some fields do not have a programatically associated label.
  • Some form fields are not correctly grouped even though they are related to one another.
  • The hierarchy of headings is not relevant on several pages.
  • Some pages contain empty <p> and <hx> elements.
  • Some lists are not correctly implemented.
  • Some form fields do not have autocomplete attributes.
  • Some texts have an insufficient contrast ratio with respect to their background even when the improved contrast control is activated.
  • Some graphical components have an insufficient contrast ratio with respect to adjacent colors even when the improved contrast control is activated.
  • Some content cannot be dismissed without moving the pointer hover or keyboard focus, obscurring consultation of other elements.
  • Some functionalities are not available through a keyboard interface.
  • The keyboard user is trapped inside the date picker component during the booking process, without the possibility to exit the component.
  • Landmark regions cannot be easily accessed or skipped.
  • Some pages do not have a relevant title as the website cannot be identified through it.
  • The focus does not always follow a logical path.
  • Some links do not have a relevant accessible label.
  • The focus is not always visible when placed on some components.
  • The focus is completely obscured when it lands on some components.
  • No error message is provided on the contact form.
  • Some instructions are not correctly associated to the form fields.
  • Users do not get suggestions on how to resolve errors for some specific form fields.
  • Some components are not accessible to assistive technologies.
  • Some status messages are not correctly rendered by the screen reader.
