THE PROJECT'S HISTORY
The idea for an ambitious, large-scale museum dedicated to Charlie Chaplin and his life’s work came about in the year 2000, when Swiss architect Philippe Meylan and Quebecois curator, film buff and Chaplin aficionado Yves Durand first met. The project was brought to life by a dedicated group, made up of business people, artists and key local players, as well as teams of architects, engineers and designers, working together with the Chaplin Foundation.

My wife picked this attraction for us to visit. I thought it would be nice, but boy was I blown away. I have never seen a celebrity attraction done as well as this. It's only been open for a couple years. Upon entry, you first visit Chaplin's home.

Visiting this museum was one of the main reasons I wanted to visit Switzerland. Charlie has been my idol for decades. Who ever designed this ultimate dedication to Charlie could not have done a better job.

I grew up knowing about Charlie and saw some of his films. To me he was just another funny actor. BOY, was I wrong. We had the privilege of visiting this remarkable memorial/museum for a extreme person who made a major impact on the world.
