CHAPLIN’S WORLD IN MUSIC!

SATURDAY 18 AND SUNDAY 19 JUNE 2022

As well as being an actor, director and producer, Charlie Chaplin was an immensely talented composer with a passion for music. He composed the music for his films from 1931 onwards, starting with City Lights, and from 1942 through the 1970s, he worked on the sound compositions for re-releases of many of his earlier silent films. Great artists, including Rudolf Serkin, Arthur Rubinstein, Isaac Stern, and Clara Haskil were frequent visitors to the Chaplin family home, and in the drawing room of the Manoir, you can still hear a few precious notes escaping from the Steinway piano

To further honour Chaplin’s musical gift and offer young talented artists the opportunity to perform the music he loved so much within the walls of his home, the Charlie Chaplin Museum Fondation and students of the Conservatoire de musique de Montreux-Vevey-Riviera  are delighted to present a selection of musical interludes in the Manoir at Chaplin’s World.
